Residency for the People is an Artist in Residence (RftP) platform based in Eindhoven run by designers Lucas Maassen and Jip Geven. RftP offers people space and time to realise plans that they can’t fit in their day-to-day lives but would love to develop nonetheless. Normally, an Artist in Residence programme is only meant for artists, designers or writers, but RftP is open to anyone – including you. Your plan doesn’t have to be artistic either. The only thing that matters is that you really badly want to realise it.

WHAT IS A RESIDENCY?

Around the world, there are thousands of places that offer opportunities for artists or designers to work on a specific project or develop their practice in general, during a specific period of time. Such a work period often, but not necessarily, involves the artist or designer staying at or near the place that offers the opportunity – hence the term residency. Artist-in-Residence opportunities are often advertised in an open call. You can find our residencies here.

Organisations can issue an open call to announce their residency opportunities. The open call details what the residency is about, who can participate, and what you need to do to apply. You can find our open calls here.
